24/7 Hosting is proudly New Zealand Based this means our servers, support and network is all here locally in New Zealand. Everyweek we receive calls from owners of websites having issues with Overseas Hosting Providers.
In most cases the only reason the owner of the website has gone with an overseas provider is becuase of how cheap they appear to be not to mention large amounts of freebies! Are they really what they live up to be though?
The most common complaints we receive about overseas companies are:
- Website & Emails are very slow
- My website has been suspended because I used large amounts of traffic but my plan said unlimited traffic
Having your website hosting overseas can impact your visitors experience quite heavily, websites hosted overseas can load upto 400 times slower than having it hosted locally. It may seem fast to you but that is probably because you've been to your website before and your computer has stored a local version.
Even though they said Unlimited Websites, Disk Space & Traffic you will find in small print it actually limits the amount you can use going over this limit normally results in extra charges.
Is hosting really cheaper overseas? We don't think so if you work out the price you pay with currency conversion rates and fees by your bank! If you work it out you will find we're pretty close...
